Executive Director - Center for Management Excellence (Assistant/Associate Professor)

The Position:  Point Park University School of Business is seeking a dynamic and dedicated management professional for the inaugural appointment as the foundling Executive Director for the Center for Management Excellence (CME).  The successful candidate will provide dynamic leadership of the design and development efforts for the creation of the CME including development of initial business plan; design/update long-term strategic plan; creation of annual budget/operating plans; and establish/execute marketing & communications strategy.  This position will hold the faculty rank of Assistant or Associate Professor dependent upon credentials.

Qualifications:  The successful applicant should be an accomplished and widely respected management practitioner, with an established professional network.  We are particularly seeking experienced professionals who are passionate about their discipline, and view this position as an opportunity to contribute to his/her profession through the active enlistment of young people to a career in management.  

We seek someone who will be actively engaged in dialogue and consultancy with the business community and who will be a quality contributor to the advancement of industry practices in the field, as evidenced by community engagement efforts, conference participation and professional publications.  The faculty member can also expect to participate in the development of undergraduate and graduate programs in the field.

Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will lead efforts to engage community leaders in establishing the CME; serve as highly visible contributor to the advancement of mid-level management education/development in the local business community; establish CME programming; organize and supervise the administration and logistics of the CME; and work closely with development/alumni departments to identify and secure funding sources to support the CME.  Additional leadership roles include participating as a member of the Dean’s leadership team, serve as a member of Dean’s Advisory Council; network with comparable organizations for evolving continuing education program design and delivery; and work with faculty to develop curricula and implement curriculum policies.

This position will report directly to the Dean of the School of Business for duties involving the CME and related community engagement.  S/he will also teach coursework in the undergraduate degree programs. Teaching course load and other faculty duties are as assigned and subject to review in the Faculty Handbook.
