Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology - Fall 2015
The Department of Natural Sciences and Engineering Technology of Point Park University seeks applications for a tenure track position as an assistant or associate professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology for Fall, 2015.
Successful candidates must have demonstrated excellence in teaching a broad range of subjects to a diverse student population. Specific teaching responsibilities within the Engineering Technology programs would include, but not be limited to, basic mechanics, i.e. Statics, Dynamics and Properties of Materials. Willingness to teach day, evening and Saturday courses is expected. Knowledge of, and willingness to use course management software is required.
Cooperation with other faculty in ongoing multi-level assessment and program development, directed towards continued program accreditation by The Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET, Inc. (www.abet.org) is a principal expectation. Other responsibilities include advising students concerning career choices and academic matters, curriculum development, university-wide service and professional development.
Requirements: The chosen candidate will possess an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with significant industrial experience. Preference will be given to candidates possessing an earned doctorate and/or professional registration. Salary for the position is competitive and commensurate with credentials and experience.
