Visiting Assistant Professor of Information Technology

The School of Business at the Point Park University (PPU) is seeking applicants for a full-time professional in residence. This is a one-year position at the Assistant Professor level, with the possibility of transitioning into a tenure-track position. The position is to begin in the spring of 2013. In this first semester, it is likely that there will be significant time spent on program development, student support and advising, and planning, with minimal classroom teaching. Our goal is to further strengthen our Information Technology Program and to broaden its coverage.  In particular we are seeking a Professional with a strong background in Information Technology, Information Assurance and /or Computer Security with experience in curriculum development, program planning and student advising.

Point Park University is a private institution with a dedicated teaching faculty. Applicants should have completed or be close to completing a Ph. D. or have demonstrated a mastery of the field in their professional success in Information Technology.  Prior teaching experience is a plus but not required.  Demonstrated ability to engage in research and publications will also be an advantage. 


Teaching responsibilities are six-eight courses per academic year. The Faculty is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate classes. The successful candidate will provide evidence of excellence in teaching, ongoing scholarship, and professional development.  We also welcome candidates who have related industry experience.
