Visiting Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology
The Department of Natural Sciences and Engineering Technology of Point Park University seeks applications for a one-year visiting faculty position as an assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology starting in the fall of 2013.
Successful candidates will preferably have demonstrated excellence in teaching a broad range of subjects to a diverse student population. Industrial experience is also highly valued.
Specific teaching responsibilities within the Engineering Technology programs include but are not limited to Statics, Dynamics, and Properties of Materials. Knowledge of and willingness to use course management software is required.
Cooperation with other faculty in ongoing multi-level assessment and program development, directed towards continued program accreditation by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET Inc., http://abet.org. Other responsibilities may include advising students concerning career choices and academic matters, curriculum development, university wide service and professional development.
The chosen candidate will possess an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with significant industrial experience. Preference will be given to candidate possessing an earned doctorate and/or professional registration. Salary for the position is competitive and commensurate with credentials and experience.
