Adjunct Faculty, Cinema Production – Directing

Adjunct Faculty, Cinema Production – Directing:

The Cinema Arts Department in the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University seeks adjunct faculty to teach film directing courses at the intermediate and advanced level.  Applicants should have experience in directing for the camera, and experience teaching directing at the college level.  Courses focus primarily on directing the short, fiction film.

It is desirable that applicants have an MFA in filmmaking or other appropriate, related terminal degree.  Applicants with a BA, but with significant professional or teaching experience, will also be considered.

With over 250 full-time undergraduate students, the Cinema Arts Department is one of three departments in the University's prestigious and nationally recognized Conservatory of Performing Arts. The department offers B.A. degrees in Cinema Production, Screenwriting and Animation. Acceptance into the programs are competitive, portfolio-based and at the discretion of the Cinema faculty. Once enrolled, Cinema students follow a rigorous 8-term course sequence that requires extensive crew collaboration, creative and technical mastery, as well as artistic vision and execution. The department has one of the highest enrollment and retention rates in the University. Detailed information about our students' experience in the program can be found at: www.pointpark.edu/cinema.
