Position: Graduate Assistant –Television Broadcasting
Department: School of Communication
Term of appointment: One-year assignment, renewable for second year, beginning with the Fall 2013 semester. Assignment is 8 months, late August until early May.
Salary: At least $6,400 ($3,200 per semester) annual stipend plus fully paid tuition and fees.
Requirements: Undergraduate degree in journalism, mass communication, media studies, or similar degree with professional and/or student media experience in television broadcasting. Applicants must have working knowledge of television cameras, digital editing hardware and software, and other relevant equipment; this is not an “on-the-job” training position. Applicants for this assistantship must already have been admitted into the M.A. program and must commit to enroll in a minimum of nine (9) credits per semester. The application processes for the graduate program and graduate assistantships are different and separate.
Primary duties: Graduate Assistant will assist in teaching undergraduate courses in television broadcasting programs as well as content for the U-View on-campus cable television network. Work 20 hours per week except during vacations and holidays.
