Graduate Assistant-School of Communications Photo

Position: Graduate Assistant, Photojournalism and Photography

Department: School of Communication

Term of appointment: One-year assignment, renewable for second year, beginning with the Fall 2015 semester. Assignment is 8 months, late August until early May. Fall semester starts in late August.

Salary: $6,400 ($3,200 per semester) annual stipend plus fully paid tuition and fees.

Requirements: Undergraduate degree in journalism, mass communication, media studies, or similar degree. Professional and/or student media experience in journalism or mass communication field preferred. Applicants for this assistantship must already have been admitted into the M.A. program and must commit to enroll in a minimum of nine (9) credits per semester. The application processes for the graduate program and graduate assistantships are separate.

Primary duties: Graduate assistant will support Associate Professor of Photojournalism Chris Rolinson and Assistant Professor of Photography April Friges and is responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment for the photo labs; for putting up, maintaining and taking down displays of student and other work; and other duties to be assigned 

The position reports to Associate Professor Rolinson and to the Director of the Graduate Programs, Dr. Steve Hallock.
