Position opening: Graduate Assistant; Photojournalism and Photography
Department: School of Communication
Term of appointment: One-year assignment, renewable for second year, beginning with the fall 2017 semester. Assignment is 8 months, late August until early May. Fall semester starts in late August.
Salary: $6,400 ($3,200 per semester) annual stipend plus fully paid tuition and fees.
Requirements: Undergraduate degree in journalism, mass communication, media studies, or similar degree. Professional and/or student media experience in journalism or mass communication field preferred. Applicants for this assistantship must already have been admitted into the M.A. program and must commit to enroll in a minimum of nine (9) credits per semester. The application processes for the graduate program and graduate assistantships are separate.
Primary duties: Graduate assistant will support the School of Communication’s photo departments and labs and is responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment for the photo labs; for putting up, maintaining and taking down displays of student and other work; and other duties to be assigned.
