Graduate Assistant, Clinical Psyc Part Time

POSITION:  Graduate Assistant in Clinical-Community Psychology - Two half-time assistantships available

REPORTS TO:  Graduate Program Director, Clinical-Community Psychology

REQUIREMENTS: B.A. in Psychology or related field, acceptance to Clinical-Community Graduate Program at Point Park University

PRIMARY  FUNCTION: Assistants will be responsible for multiple duties, including: (1) assisting faculty with undergraduate recruitment; (2) planning of the 3/2017 SHP Conference being held at Point Park; (3) assisting faculty with ongoing research projects; (4) working in the university counseling center.  Duties in the counseling center include: providing intake assessments, consultation, and on- call crisis intervention and/or hospitalization as needed. Assistants will also conduct individual and group psychotherapy sessions, as well as offer outreach and psycho-educational programming for the larger university community. Ability to pass background clearances required.

DUTIES:

  1. Assisting faculty with undergraduate recruitment
  2. Planning of the 3/2017 SHP Conference being held at Point Park
  3. Assisting faculty with ongoing research projects

Counseling Center duties include:

  1. Intake assessments
  2. Consultation
  3. On-call crisis intervention and/or hospitalization as needed=
  4. Individual psychotherapy
  5. Group psychotherapy
  6. Outreach to campus community
  7. Psycho-educational programming
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Graduate Assistantship award is equivalent to ½ time tuition plus a monthly stipend of $400 (September through April). Room and board, additional tuition charges, books and incidental costs are not included. Graduate Assistantships are awarded for a one academic year period and may be renewable for a second year. The graduate assistant must be enrolled full-time in graduate courses within the Clinical-Community Graduate Program at Point Park University.
