Position: Graduate Assistant in research and publications – Two scholarly journals: Electronic News and International Journal of Interactive Communication Systems and Technologies.

Term of appointment: One-year assignment, beginning with the Fall 2011 semester. Assignment is 12 months, September 2011-December 2012.
Salary: At least $9,600 ($3,200 per semester) annual stipend plus fully paid tuition and fees.
Requirements: Undergraduate degree in journalism, mass communication, media studies, or similar degree with professional and/or student experience in print media. Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills. (Preferred: Aptitude for, and strong interest in, teaching and/or research in journalism/mass communication.) Applicants for this assistantship must already have been admitted into the M.A. program and must commit to enroll in a minimum of nine (9) credits per semester.
Primary duties: To serve as the Editorial Assistant to the Editors of scholarly journals headquartered at Point Park University. Assist the journals’ Editors in all aspects of the journals’ operations, including potentially communicating with Editorial Advisory Board members and/or article and essay authors. This Graduate Assistant might also teach undergraduate courses for additional compensation. Assistant will work 20 hours per week except during vacations and holidays.
