Accounts Payable Clerk (part-time)

POSITION:                  Accounts Payable Clerk (part-time)

REPORTS TO:           Accounts Payable Supervisor                                  

DEPARTMENT:         Business Office

REQUIREMENTS:    Associate degree, or equivalent experience and post-secondary course work, including at least six credits of accounting, preferred. High school degree required. A minimum of one year experience in accounting, accounts payable and data-entry functions; experience with computers preferred (Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, Access). 

SCHEDULE:                 21 hours per week (Tuesday-Thursday)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:             
Responsible for all processing aspects of accounts payable to include reviewing and verifying invoices, data entry, generating checks, and producing applicable reports. 


  1. Process all checks, except payroll, and all related tasks including the entering of information, scheduling payments, running and verifying all related reports, including edits, check registers, and journal entries.
  2. Match purchase orders, packing slips and invoices, while assisting the Accounts Payable Supervisor with any discrepancies. 
  3. Serve as main backup/support to Accounts Payable Supervisor and to work-study students.
  4. Perform other related duties as assigned.
