POSITION: Assistant Track and Field Coach (Part-Time 12 Month Staff Position)
REPORTS TO: Head Track and Field Coach and Director of Athletics
REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduate, Bachelor’s Degree preferred; two years collegiate Track and Field experience and/or two years collegiate coaching experience; experience including scouting, recruiting and coaching desired. Must demonstrate proficient organizational, communication and public relations skills; must possess general computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assist the Head coach and Director of Athletics in the development and management of all phases of the Point Park Track and Field program.
- Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the Department, the University, the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the NAIA.
- Assist the Head Coach with planning and coordinating practices and tactics. Attend all practices.
- Assist with pre-season and in-season training and conditioning of student-athletes.
- Assist the Head Coach in the total recruiting process including evaluation, travel, correspondence, and personal contacts.
- Assist the Head Coach in developing the schedule, travel, disciplinary, fund raising and Community service program as it relates to the Track and Field program. Attend all contests.
- Work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel of the athletics department.
- Become Point Park University van certified and maintain certification.
- Attend departmental meetings when necessary.
- Attend awards ceremonies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
