Assistant Director, Title IX Compliance

POSITION: Assistant Director, Title IX Compliance

REPORTS TO: This full-time position reports directly to the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs who is the Title IX Officer of the University.

REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university. At least two years of experience in Title IX program development and complaint investigation. Work experience in educational programs and presentations, managing projects, oversight and management of sensitive and confidential documents and files, and interviewing skills. Experience conducting individual and group facilitations to foster effective communication. Understanding of best practices in higher education related to Title IX, The Campus SaVE Act and the Cleary Act. Title IX Training and/or Certification is desired.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Assistant Director is the person who serves as the University’s designated agent for managing the University’s Title IX investigation and training.

DUTIES:

  1. Works with the Title IX Officer to implement and monitor appropriate policies, procedures, grievance processes and training programs related to and in compliance with Title IX.
  2. Implement the One Process One Policy (1P1P) model across the University community.
  3. Provide Title IX training and educational programs for the University community related to their rights, responsibilities, services and complaint procedures.
  4. Assure that training is conducted annually for all advocates, investigators, hearing officers, panelists and appeals officers. Training will focus on domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, sexual harassment, retaliation and other behaviors that can be forms of sex or gender discrimination covered by Title IX. Training will help those decision-makers associated with the process to protect the safety of victims and to promote accountability for those who commit offenses.
  5. Assist in the processing of student, faculty and staff inquiries or complaints of Title IX violations following the 1P1P model.
  6. Ensure the organization and maintenance of complaint files, disposition reports, and other compiled records regarding Title IX.
  7. Maintain knowledge of current local, state and federal law and regulations and trends in the field of education related to harassment and other discriminatory practices that violate Title IX.
  8. Serve as a liaison officer with other University investigation officers and Deputy Coordinators.
  9. Prepare and disseminate reports, statistics, and assessment data.
  10. Be involved in Campus SaVE Act compliance.
  11. Fulfill other duties as assigned.
