Nicholas Gigante, Point Park University M.B.A. graduate and vice president of development for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, will give the keynote address at the 2016 Hooding and Degree Conferral.

The Hooding Ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Sun., April 24, in the ballroom at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown Hotel. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

More than 200 students are expected to receive graduate degrees from across 17 master's programs offered at the University. This year's ceremony also includes Point Park's first class of graduates from its M.F.A. in Writing for the Screen and Stage program.

Gigante, who has worked at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust since 2002, decided he wanted to further his business skills and earn an M.B.A degree. He researched several programs before choosing Point Park, and graduated with his M.B.A. in 2007.

"Point Park's program allows you to do an M.B.A. with a concentration in sports, arts and entertainment management," Gigante said. "The best part is that I was able to combine all of my interests and passions in one experience."

In his role with the Cultural Trust, Gigante serves as an ambassador, encouraging more people to rediscover the arts and the Cultural District. He also manages the day-to-day operations of the development department, working on individual campaigns, memberships, capital projects and planned giving.

"Our graduate programs are designed to be rigorous and complete, as we send students out into the world ready to make an impact on society," said Paul Hennigan, Ed.D., president of Point Park. "Nicholas is an example of one of our best possible outcomes, as he has remained in Pittsburgh and become a key contributor to one of our city's most respected organizations."
