Night at the Movies - Screening of Student Films

You're invited to a cinematic experience on the big screen. View some of the exciting films our cinema students are producing. This collection of short films promises to have something for everyone, from comedy to drama, and represents work developed in an array of cinema courses from freshman production classes to digital tools to senior thesis projects. These films would generally be rated at the PG-13 level, as some may contain strong language and/or violence.

Saturday, October 10

As per the 2015-16 academic calendar, accelerated classes for Saturday, Oct. 10, are on break.

All other Saturday classes will meet as scheduled.

Also, please keep in mind that even though students may not have classes on Saturday,
they may have other work or school-related obligations such as show rehearsals, athletic games, etc.

Men's & Women's Cross Country

The Point Park University men's and women's cross country teams are competing in the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational Oct. 10 in Schenley Park in Oakland. Watch the Pioneers compete in the women's 6K at 10 a.m. and the men's 8K at 11 a.m.  The start and finish of the course is at the Schenley Oval. Shuttle service is not provided for this event.

Family Weekend Shuttle

Continuous looping shuttle service will be available to those families who wish to visit and enjoy some of Pittsburgh’s charming and unique neighborhoods on their own. Stops include the Strip District, South Side Works, Station Square and Point Park.  For more information about shuttles, visit the Resources page.

Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium

One of only six major zoo and aquarium combinations in the country, the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium is located on 77 acres in Pittsburgh’s Highland Park neighborhood.  The zoo exhibits thousands of animals representing hundreds of species, including 22 threatened or endangered species. You and your family are able to enjoy all the park has to offer at your leisure.  For more information, visit the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium website at www.pittsburghzoo.com.

Men’s Soccer vs. Washington Adventist

Go Pioneers! Cheer on the men’s soccer team as it takes the field at Highmark Stadium, which is just across the Monongahela River in Station Square. Fans can choose a quick drive over on their own, take the Family Weekend Shuttle which stops at the stadium entrance) or take a 15-20 minute walk over the Smithfield Street Bridge.
