Serving students who commute to campus
The Office of Commuter Affairs serves as a resource to the commuter population of Point Park University including:
- traditional-age students living off campus
- non-traditional or adult learners living off campus
- graduate students living off campus
Essentially, any student not living in a Point Park residence hall is considered a commuter student. The Office of Commuter Affairs works to provide activities and events that will meet the needs of this diverse population. The Office of Commuter Affairs is located in 712 Student Center* and can be reached at 412-392-3835 or commuteraffairs@pointpark.edu.
*Note- We have moved from Lawrence Hall to the Student Center.
Commuter Resources
The Office of Commuter Affairs is continually updating the Commuter Resources page of the website. This page includes information about parking, public transportation and other University resources.
The Commuter Lounge
The 4th floor lounge in Lawrence Hall is currently being transformed into the Commuter Lounge. It will be a place for commuter students to hang out, relax, study, or watch TV between classes; essentially a "home away from home." Check back for information on the progress being made in this area.
Commuter Learning Communities
The Commuter Learning Communities have been developed for our first-year students to support their transition into college life. For more information, please check out the Commuter Learning Communities page.
Commuter Club
The Commuter Club is a student-run group to unite commuter students and advocate for this special population of students. This group is open to all commuters. If you are interested in getting involved, email commuteraffairs@pointpark.edu.
Jump Start Saturdays
Jump Start Saturdays is a lunch series developed for the Saturday students. About once a month the Office of Commuter Affairs will host a lunch workshop focused on career and professional development. Many of the workshops will be facilitated by the Point Park Office of Career Development. Check back for additional information.
