Point Park University's residence halls offer students a dynamic living and learning environment in the urban setting of downtown Pittsburgh.  Point Park  has five residence halls:  Lawrence, Thayer, Pioneer, Conestoga, and the Boulevard Apartments.

The residence halls at Point Park offer many different living options for students.  We have single, double, and triple occupancies, suite and apartment style accommodations.  All Point Park residence halls are conveniently located close to Academic Hall, the University Center, and the Patterson Building.

Apartments

In the fall of 2008, we introduced apartment living on campus.  Located on the Boulevard of the Allies, the apartment buildings provide both convenience and comfort for upperclassmen. The apartment buildings are gender neutral by apartment. Apartment options include six person and four person occupancies. Each apartment consist of a full kitchen/dining area, living area, two to three bedrooms, and each bedroom is accompanied by a private bathroom.

Apartment bedrooms include:

  • Apartments ending in 00,01,02,03- One extra-long twin bed frame and mattress - per resident
  • Apartments ending in 04,05,06,07- One twin bed frame and mattress - per resident
  • One student desk and chair - per resident
  • One armoire - per resident
  • One dresser - per resident
  • One night stand - per resident
  • One Ethernet port - per resident
  • One cable outlet

Apartment living areas include:

  • One couch
  • Two chairs
  • One coffee table and an end table
  • One TV stand

Apartment kitchen and dining areas include:

  • A full-size refrigerator
  • A self-cleaning oven/stove
  • A dishwasher
  • A dining room table with chairs

A University meal plan is not required for residents living in the apartments. The Boulevard Apartments have air conditioning. Residents must provide a shower curtain and toilet paper.

Conestoga Suites

A seven story suite style residence hall that accommodates 91 residents, Conestoga is located at 7 Wood Street. The floors are co-ed, but the suites themselves are single sexed. Each suite consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchenette. Pioneer Suites offers Point Park sophomores and juniors with a more independent living community.

Pioneer Suites

A seven story suite style residence hall that accommodates 72 residents, Pioneer is located at 111 Wood Street. The floors are co-ed, but the suites themselves are single sexed. Each suite consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchenette. Pioneer Suites offers Point Park sophomores and juniors with a more independent living community.

Lawrence Hall

David L. Lawrence Hall, the former Sherwyn Hotel, houses approximately 420 residents. The ninth through the twentieth floors are residential floors. Rooms in Lawrence Hall are single, double, or triple occupancy and have private bathrooms. Lawrence Hall does not have air conditioning but does have carpeting.

Lawrence Hall rooms include: 

  • One twin bed frame and mattress - per resident

  • One Closet or a free standing closet - per resident
  • One Ethernet connection - per resident

Residents must provide a shower curtain and toilet paper.

Thayer Hall

Clara Thayer Hall, a 10-story traditional style residence hall, houses approximately 135 residents. The fifth through eighth floors are residential halls. Rooms in Thayer Hall are single, double, or triple occupancy with two community bathrooms on each floor. Each room is equipped with furniture, an individual hearting/air conditioning unit and Cable TV/Ethernet hookups. Please be aware that Thayer Hall does not have overhead lights in the rooms. You will need to provide your own lighting for your room.
