Note:  When traveling in Downtown Pittsburgh, use caution when following GPS directions, as there are a number of one-way streets, and bus-only lanes.

Family Weekend Transportation: Point Park Shuttles

Point Park will offer University shuttle transportation on Saturday morning and afternoon to allow you to explore Pittsburgh, as well as between Point Park and area hotels on Friday and Saturday evenings. Shuttles are easily identified by the prominently displayed Point Park logo on the sides of each shuttle. The Point Park pick-up/drop-off location is outside Lawrence Hall at the corner of Wood Street and the Boulevard of the Allies.

There will not be shuttle service for the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, the Carnegie Museums, or the cross country meet at Schenley Park.  Please visit their websites for more information on these venues, including hours of operation, directions, parking, etc. 

For families with young children, please be aware that no child required under Pennsylvania Law to ride in a child safety seat of any kind (car seat, booster seat, etc.) is permitted to ride University shuttles. 

Under Pennsylvania's seat belt law:

  • Children under the age of 4 must be properly restrained in an approved child safety seat anywhere in the vehicle.
  • Children from ages 4 up to 8 must be restrained in an appropriate booster seat.
  • Children from ages 8 up to 18 must be in a seat belt.

Shuttle Schedule

The Point Park pick-up/drop-off location is outside Lawrence Hall at the corner of Wood Street and the Boulevard of the Allies.

The Family Weekend shuttles run in a continuous loop to and from Point Park and the locations below during the specified hours.

Classy Cab runs trips of any distance that originate or terminate in the City of Pittsburgh. They do not pick up arriving passengers at Pittsburgh International Airport, but they can take you there.

Bus Service, Local

The Port Authority primarily serves Allegheny County. You can find updated fare information and bus schedules on the Port Authority website, along with "Riding 101" — basics about the bus, T (light rail), inclines and Park & Ride lots.

The Port Authority website also provides information and contact information about mass transit options for outlying counties.
