New academic year

Point Park welcomes students

First-year student cruise

September is an exciting time at Point Park University. A new class of freshmen has arrived on campus, moving into residence halls, making new friends, and scoping out which classes are in what buildings. Returning students are swapping stories of summer jobs, internships or beach vacations.  Graduate students are ready to start new degree programs with thoughts of how their studies will enhance or change their careers in the not so distant future.  And of course, Downtown Pittsburgh is pulsing with end of summer sights, sounds and events.

Point Park welcomes first-year students with the academic pageantry of the University's Convocation Ceremony, followed by the annual Gateway Clipper dinner dance cruise on Pittsburgh's three rivers.

Welcome Week offers all students great opportunities for fun and relaxation before the rigors of fall term get under way.  The Welcome Week schedule includes a movie in Alumni Park, Pirates baseball, an involvement fair, Monte Carlo night, a picnic, a dance and more.

From the moment they set foot on campus, Point Park students are connecting with classmates, the larger University community, and the urban campus of Downtown Pittsburgh.  Welcome!
