Family Services of Western Pennsylvania announced this month that Professor Lorelei Stein, Ph.D., has been elected to the organization's Board of Trustees. She will serve a three-year term.

Family Services of Western Pennsylvania is a human services agency that provides a variety of programs, services and activities for children, adults and families. The agency works in the areas of behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and rehabilitation to help build stronger families and communities.

Among its many services are the Families Outside program and the Allegheny County Jail Collaboration, a family support program that provides comprehensive services to families impacted by incarceration and delivers a wide array of programming, including services based in the jail and in the community.

Stein, who directs Point Park University's graduate program in criminal justice administration, is a longtime advocate for children with parents who are incarcerated in Allegheny County.

In addition to her teaching and advocacy roles, Stein is working on a research project studying juveniles in prison or jail in conjunction with the National Center for Juvenile Justice in Pittsburgh.
