I always wanted to get a bachelor's degree so when my wife heard a radio advertisement for Point Park on WDVE she encouraged me to apply. The location of Point Park in Downtown Pittsburgh was absolutely perfect. It was only a couple of blocks away from my office and definitely accommodated my family and work life. All of the resources I needed to complete my degree were within an arm's reach.

Also, I liked that the admissions process at Point Park went very smoothly and that the accelerated IT and management program was offered on Saturdays.

What were some of your favorite experiences at Point Park?

I enjoyed being part of a cohort and meeting lots of people whom I'm still friends with today. I also really liked taking two classes at a time and learning about different aspects of the IT field. My experience with professors was very positive, too. They were all very accessible. There was never a time when I couldn't get ahold of one of my professors.

How have your classes helped you in your job?

The classes I took at Point Park opened my mind up to a different side of IT. I also learned how to effectively deal with project managers and developers and look at the business side of the firm I work for as a whole.

What advice do you have individuals who are considering pursuing a bachelor's degree as a non-traditional student?

Make sure you have the time and dedication to go back to school to earn a bachelor's degree. When you're in class, learn as much as you can and keep your mind open.
