How did you land your position at Heinz Field?

As part of Professor Ed Traversari's event management class, we toured Heinz Field. After the tour, I introduced myself to Cayce Pastoor, club marketing and guest services manager at Heinz Field, and expressed my interest in working there. She asked me to send in my resume and I ended up landing the position of corporate events intern. Following that, I was asked to stay on part time as a corporate events assistant. This then led to my current full-time position.

What factors made you choose Point Park and its SAEM program?

I actually came to Point Park for theatre arts but in the back of my mind I always knew I loved events. My best friend introduced me to the SAEM major and after seeing some of the classes offered, I decided to jump right into the program.

Overall, I chose Point Park because the campus is in a vibrant city. Even though I grew up in the country, I'm a city girl at heart. I liked that I could have the whole city to explore during my time in college. Pittsburgh is a great city where you can easily make connections. I knew that the more connections I could make while I was still in school, the easier it would be to get a job.

Please list internship and career-related experiences you had throughout college.

In what ways have the SAEM faculty played a role in shaping your career?

They are always so willing to introduce you to people they know in the industry and connect you to interviews. Also, the SAEM faculty have such an open door policy and aren't there just for class. They helped me to gain valuable real-world experience while still in school.

What are your career goals?

I would like to continue to establish great relationships with the clients I work with as well as bring in new clientele. Heinz Field is a wonderful organization.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I currently work with SAEM alum Megan Jones, who is also a club manager at Heinz Field. It's exciting that two of us from the same program — and with the same first name — have landed positions here.
