What was your reaction to being selected as the Point Park Alumni Association's outstanding undergraduate student?

I was completely surprised and honored that so many individuals who I look up to took the time out of their hectic schedules to nominate me.

What factors made you choose a university so far from home?

Pittsburgh is truly a beautiful city full of opportunity and adventure so it captivated my attention. I also really wanted to live in a larger city and the sports, arts and entertainment management major was exactly what I needed to develop professional skills and accomplish my goals.

What did you enjoy most about the SAEM program?

My favorite aspect of the SAEM program was the multiple opportunities to network with industry professionals after classes as well as during information sessions.

How can students make the most of their time at Point Park?

Current students should definitely network and intern! Completing a degree is a tremendous accomplishment but the experiences and connections students make during their time in college will benefit them greatly toward achieving future goals.

What's next for you?

I am returning to the Carolinas where I will begin a full-time summer program seasonal position with the City of Monroe, N.C. I then plan to move to Austin, Texas, in late August to begin my career in event management.

Final thoughts?

I would like to sincerely thank the entire Career Development Center staff for all of their hard work and support during these last four years. I have learned a great deal from you all and would not have won this award without your recommendations.
