"Zoë is among the top students I have taught in my 26 years at Point Park. She has an incredible range of talents and skills, and it was a pleasure to watch her succeed and take on leadership roles during her time here. I know that some agency or organization will benefit greatly from her creative and communication skills. We are all very proud of her," said Helen Fallon, professor and director of the Honors Program.

What was your reaction when you found out you received the School of Communication's Outstanding Graduating Senior and Honors Award?

My first reaction was shock, followed by an overwhelming sense of pride and joy. I felt completely honored to be recognized for all the hard work I have done during my four years at Point Park.

What factors made you choose the School of Communication?

I love the urban campus and I loved the idea of getting involved in a Downtown environment. After visiting the school twice, I realized the School of Communication was a perfect fit. Not only was I going to take classes in my major freshman year, but the experience seemed real world and current.

What was your most rewarding experience at Point Park?

To say there has been one would be an extreme understatement. Some of my favorite experiences include painting houses in Seattle with the alternative spring break group, working at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as public affairs associate, playing ThinkFast! with incoming students at the Pioneer Experience, designing my own typeface, and branding and working on the Honors Student Organization Storytelling and Human Rights Symposium.

What advice do you have for today's students?

Get involved. You'll hear it thousands of times at Point Park University, but it rings so true. I've met some of the most wonderful, inspiring people working in different offices throughout campus and joining various clubs. I'm also very proud of the portfolio and work I have - a lot of which comes from outside of class.

What are your career goals?

This summer I'll be traveling to Europe and living in Macedonia for two months working in travel advertising. After that, I want to go where the wind takes me. Ideally I'll be working in graphic design, layout or any form of advertising for a firm.
