Tony and Emmy award-winning choreographer and Point Park alumnus Rob Ashford will choreograph and provide musical staging for the 2013 Academy Awards on Feb. 24. Ashford is a 1983 graduate of the dance program.

Ashford has also found success as a director and is currently directing the Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, starring Scarlett Johansson.

In 2009, Ashford won the Emmy for Outstanding Choreography for the 81st Annual Academy Awards and his Musicals are Back opening number featuring songs like All that Jazz, You're the One That I Want, All that Jazz and Maria.

In 2002, Ashford won a Tony Award for Best Choreography for Thoroughly Modern Millie and has been nominated for six additional Tony awards.

The Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and televised live on ABC.
