Point Park University is hosting a Production Assistant Training Seminar (P.A.T.S.) in the Lawrence Hall Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 24 and 25.

The two-day seminar will provide on-location training for entry-level PAs that includes a thorough orientation of the entertainment industry; proper etiquette and procedures from seasoned filmmakers; video and PowerPoint presentations; and sessions on job searching, resume building and interview techniques.

Participants will be provided with:

  • Comprehensive manual
  • Download of more than 65 industry standard forms
  • Entry into the P.A.T.S. national database
  • Certificate of completion

The first section of the seminar will include hands-on instruction, such as practical drills and demonstrations, that will prepare participants for their first day of work on a major motions picture.

The second section will focus on the finer points of filmmaking to prepare PAs with a deeper understanding of what happens behind the scenes with producers, directors and actors.

The seminar is open to the public, and Point Park students can sign up for a discounted rate of $100. To sign up for the seminar, visit the registration page on the PA Training Seminar website.
