More than 35 cinema arts students worked in various capacities as interns on "The Chair" project, a new documentary series produced in part by Point Park University. The series follows two directors as they compete to make the best feature film using the same script.
Students interned in the production offices for both feature films and the television series as production assistants, extras, in the art departments, on set, behind the scenes, and supported the marketing and public relations efforts.

On March 17, executive producer Chris Moore hosted a forum with the student interns. Moore expressed his appreciation to the students for their hard work and professionalism, along with his excitement about the project.
“I think it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve seen footage from both movies, and I think they are very good. I thought this was a very positive project,” Moore said.
During the forum, students asked questions and discussed what it was like working on the film. The students said they were excited to have the chance to learn from Moore because it helped them discover their strengths.
“Chris taught me to stand up for myself in this industry and to fight for what I want,” said Marlee Schneider, a junior cinema and digital arts major. “I learned what [type of] personality you need to have to get things done and done right in this business.”
Moore said he hopes that the experience of having a professional credit on their resume will help students land a job on future projects.
Many students felt their internships provided them with an opportunity that will be beneficial in their careers.
“Getting familiar with a set environment and being around people who are doing what you’re trying to do definitely prepared me for what’s to come,” said Kaitlyn Serevicz, a senior cinema and digital arts major. “There are grueling hours, but it’s inspiring to be with such hardworking people.”
