Professors Write Paper on Preventing Fraud through Accounting Information Systems

School of Business professors George Bromall, J.D., professor of business management; Natalya Goreva, Ph.D., assistant professor of information technology and Elaine Luther, D.Sc., professor of business management, recently co-authored a paper titled "Exploring Accounting Information Systems and Embezzlement from Nonprofit Organizations."

Accepted by the International Association for Computer Information Systems, the paper will be published in an upcoming issue of the journal, Issues in Information Systems.

"Our paper sums up our research on fraud and embezzlement in nonprofit organizations. We are exploring ways to use software to lessen these types of crimes," explained Goreva.

Bromall, Goreva and Luther will present their paper at the 53rd Annual International Association for Computer Information Systems Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Oct. 2-5, 2013.
