Broadway's Patrick Cassidy Directs ‘Oklahoma!’

Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company opens its 2013-14 season with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved musical Oklahoma!, directed by Broadway star Patrick Cassidy.

Oklahoma!, which tells the story of cowboy Curly McLain and his romance with strong-willed farm girl Laurey Williams, features the following Conservatory of Performing Arts faculty and students:

  • Associate Professor Zeva Barzell, choreographer
  • Garrett Kerr (student), stage manager
  • Gina Guerriere (student), assistant stage manager
  • Nicole White (student), assistant stage manager
  • Hugo Schroeder (student), assistant stage manager
  • Matt Augustyniak (student), Will Parker
  • Stanly Graham (student), Curly McLain
  • Luke Halferty (student), Jud Fry
  • Amanda Hawkins (student), Aunt Eller
  • Kirsten Lynn Hoover (student), Laurey Williams
  • Jorie Kosel (student), Ado Annie Carnes
  • Zach Petrovitch (student), Andrew Carnes
  • Ryan Thurman (student), Ali Hakim
  • Andrea Weinzierl (student), Gertie Cummings

More than 20 students perform in the ensemble, and the production also features staff and alumni on and off stage.

Cassidy is the son of famed movie star Shirley Jones, who began her acting career at the Pittsburgh Playhouse and who played the role of Laurey in the movie production of Oklahoma! Jones is planning to attend the opening performance on Oct. 18 at the Pittsburgh Playhouse.

Oklahoma! runs Oct. 18-27 in the Rockwell Theatre.
