Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company announced today that Broadway legend Ann Reinking will choreograph the world premiere of Time After Time, which will run at Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse from Feb. 26 through March 14, 2010. Gabriel Barre directs. Time After Time is a new musical with book and lyrics by Stephen Cole and music by Jeffrey Saver.

Reinking has played leading roles in numerous Broadway musicals such as Chicago, A Chorus Line and Sweet Charity, and originated roles in Goodtime Charley and Dancin'. She appeared in the film All That Jazz, and starred in films such as Annie and Micki and Maude. She founded the Broadway Theater Project, and is the recipient of a Tony Award (Best Choreography, Chicago revival), Drama Desk Award and the Bob Fosse Award.

Barre directed the off-Broadway production of The Wild Party by Andrew Lippa, which was nominated for numerous awards including five Outer Critics Circle Awards and 13 Drama Desk Awards. He directed the national tours of Stephen Schwartz's Pippin and Rodgers' and Hammerstein's Cinderella, among many other off-Broadway and special productions. As an actor, he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in Starmites. He has performed in numerous Broadway, off-Broadway and regional Theater Productions.

Time After Time is a romantic thriller that pits the real life HG Wells against Jack the Ripper as they both travel in Wells' time machine from Victorian England to New York in 2010.

Time After Time recently received a private reading in New York (Aug. 28) directed by Barre with music direction by Peter Eldridge, which was presented by Somerled Charitable Foundation in association with Wendy Macdonald and Paige Price. The reading featured Andy Karl (9 to 5, Legally Blonde) as HG Wells, Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys, Aida) as John Leslie Stephenson, Lauren Kennedy (Vanities, Spamalot) as Amy Robins and Mandy Gonzalez (In the Heights, Lennon) as Carol Green. Peter Filichia wrote in his Theatermania diary, "Is it all right for me to review a mere reading? Bookwriter-lyricist Stephen Cole and composer Jeffrey Saver probably won't mind, given that I adored their new musical that was recently given a sharp staged reading by Gabriel Barre. The response from the packed room on the 5th floor of Chelsea Studios on West 26th Street showed I wasn't alone...Time after Time is getting a full production done by the students at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. I'm planning to get there by plane, train automobile, or Time Machine."

Cole's credits include After The Fair, The Night of the Hunter, Casper and The Road to Qatar!, which will have its world premiere this fall. Jeffrey Saver has written and arranged material for Chita Rivera, Bebe Neuwirth, Christine Baranski, Joel Gray and many others. As a musical director and/or pianist, Saver's credits include 13 Broadway shows including Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Into the Woods. Saver is a faculty member at Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts.
