Police officers from Point Park University's Department of Public Safety will be taking the plunge Dec. 6 to benefit the Special Olympics Pennsylvania.

Officers will take a dip in the Ohio River as part of the Pittsburgh Polar Plunge at Heinz Field. Also at the event, officers will host the interactive Plunge Town, which will include free food and activities for all ages, warm holding and changing tents, and large LED screens for optimal plunge viewing.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with parking available in Gold Lot 1 on the North Shore near Heinz Field. Plunge Town will run from 9:30 a.m. until the officers take their dip at 1 p.m. You can donate $50 to take the plunge with the officers.

Check out the Public Safety Department's Polar Plunge page for more information on donating and taking part.
