1098-T forms are made available by Jan. 31 of each year.

Students may be eligible to claim The American Opportunity Tax Credit and the Lifetime Learning Credit under the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997. For additional information on these education benefits and eligibility, visit

Form 1098-T

Point Park University reports payments received for qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE) in Box 1 and the amount of grants and scholarships received in Box 5. The amounts included in either box is for the calendar year (January 1 – December 31).

Example: A tuition payment made in December 2018 toward the spring 2019 semester will not be reflected on the 2019 1098-T form because the payment was made in the 2018 calendar year.

The University cannot provide tax advice. Students should contact a tax professional or the IRS with questions concerning income taxes and eligibilty for educational tax credits. 

Access Your Form Online

1098-T forms are stored electronically with our servicer, Heartland ECSI.

To access your 1098-T form online without a profile:

  • Heartland ECSI website
  • On the Heartland ECSI homepage, select "Click Here" after the words "To access your 1098-T tax form"
  • Type "Point Park University" in the school name field.  After selecting Point Park University, click "Submit"
  • Enter student's first name, last name, social security number, and zip code in the required fields.  NOTE:  The zip code must match the zip code used on the 1098-T Form.
  • To complete authentication, check the box for "I am not a robot" and verify the information requested and click Verify
  • Click Continue
  • The Tax Document Information window will appear listing the current and prior year's tax forms
  • Click the + sign to the right of the delivery status to view and print 1098T information

Creating a New Profile

  • Heartland ECSI website
  • Click "Sign In or Register at the top right"
  • Register and create a new profile following the prompts

Connecting Accounts

  • After signing in or creating a login, the "Your School Accounts" home page will appear
  • Click the red + in the Connect an Account box
  • Enter your Heartland Key that was sent to you via email or search for your key on this page
  • Click "Connect"
  • The "Your Connected Accounts" page will appear. Click the school image to view your tax information

Paper Forms

If you did not consent to receiving your 1098-T form electronicially, a paper form will be mailed to the current address on file by January 31.
