Assistance with Course Work
Point Park Tutoring Services provides professional and peer tutors for students who seek tutoring in their course work. In addition, students may receive assistance with effective study strategies, such as organization, time management, note taking technique, and exam preparation.
Point Park Tutoring Services makes a reasonable effort to meet the tutoring needs of students in a wide variety of undergraduate courses. However, we may not be able to honor every request due to limited student and/or tutor availability.
TutorTrac, a scheduling software, can be accessed through PointWeb. This system will allow you to schedule one-on-one tutoring appointments. Additional services, such as drop-in tutoring, are provided each semester. For questions please contact MIchael Elko at 412-392-8153, email email@example.com, or visit the Center for Student Success (West Penn Building, fifth floor).
Peer tutors are a valuable part of Point Park's effort to provide quality services for students. Point Park Tutoring Services actively seeks enthusiastic and qualified candidates to become peer tutors. Tutors are paid through General Work funds.
Prospective tutors must meet the following qualifications:
- Overall GPA of 3.0
- GPA of 3.0 in the area tutored
- Obtain a recommendation from a faculty member in the area the applicant wishes to tutor
For more information about becoming a tutor, contact Michael Elko, Student Success Coordinator for Tutoring Services at 412-392-8153, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit the CSS offices on the fifth floor of the West Penn Building.
