Undergraduate Business Scholarships For Current Undergraduate Rowland School of Business Students
CAVU Leadership Award
The purpose of the CAVU Leadership Award is to provide a deserving student enrolled within the Rowland School of Business' Department of Management with an academic scholarship annually to offset academic expenses, including tuition, room and board. To be eligible for the scholarship, the recipient must be a full-time, rising sophomore, junior or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student recipient should possess an authentic interest in increasing their leadership capacity
Deloitte Academic Enhancement Fund
The purpose of the Fund is to provide two deserving students with equal one-time awards to offset academic expenses beyond tuition, room, and board.
- Award 1 - Preference shall be given to a full or part-time first-year student majoring in accounting who demonstrates financial need and has a high school GPA of 3.2 or above.
- Award 2 - Preference shall be given to a full or part-time second-year student majoring in accounting who demonstrates financial need and has a matriculating GPA of 3.2 or above. Other candidates within the Rowland School of Business may be considered. The director of financial aid will identify and select a deserving student for the award from a pool of candidates within the Urban Accounting Scholars Program, the accounting department and/or the Rowland School of Business.
Once selected, the award recipient shall be eligible to receive their specified award in the form of campus credit, which can be used to purchase books or other supplies at the University bookstore or through University purchasing. Second-year students who received this award in their first year shall be eligible to receive this award for a second consecutive year as long as he/she continues to meet the eligibility criteria.
First National Bank Scholarship
The First National Bank Scholarship will provide a deserving student majoring in human resources management with an interest in working in the financial services sector with an academic-year scholarship. To be eligible for the scholarship, the recipient must be a full-time incoming or continuing undergraduate student within the Rowland School of Business majoring in human resources management. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrated financial need and interest in working in the financial services sector.
Frank Sinatra Scholarship
A 1970 graduate of Point Park University, Frank Sinatra displayed his passion for Point Park by founding and chairing the annual Pioneer Golf Classic and serving as a long-time member of the Alumni Association's board of directors. Sinatra's positive spirit, enthusiasm and dedication continue to be a source of inspiration for the entire Point Park University community. This scholarship is specifically for an SAEM major who is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and holds a GPA of at least 3.0. The recipient should be an active member of the SAEM Club with a preferred permanent residence of western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio or northern West Virginia. Applicants must submit a completed application form, an essay explaining their goals as an SAEM major, and a brief statement of merit. Final candidates will be interviewed by members of the Rowland School of Business scholarship committee.
Froehlich/Roteman Scholarship
Mr. Froehlich, a representative of Touche Ross and Company, was a member of the audit team that performed the required audits for the federal financial aid programs at Point Park. This scholarship has been established in recognition of Froehlich's contributions to the professional community in general and to Point Park University in particular. In order to receive this scholarship, the recipient must have successfully completed two years in the accounting program with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Two letters of recommendation commenting on the applicants' demonstrated academic excellence, personal maturity and exemplified career motivation, and federal and state aid application forms must be submitted with the application.
George E. Marin IT and Business Undergraduate Scholarship
George E. Marin,'73, has been successful in the information technology field by creating software programs to facilitate the management and warehousing requirements for food distribution centers. Marin established the scholarship to support students demonstrating academic merit and financial need, majoring in information technology and/or other majors in the Rowland School of Business. In order to receive this scholarship, students must be enrolled full-time in the Rowland School of Business (IT major preferred), have completed at least 30 credit hours, be in financial need and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0. Applicants must submit both a personal essay explaining their goals as a Rowland School of Business major or an information technology student and a portfolio of their work.
Milton A. Washington Scholarship
The purpose of the Milton A Washington Scholarship is to provide a deserving first-year or sophomore undergraduate student with an academic year scholarship annually. Preference shall be given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in accounting in the Rowland School of Business. Preference shall also be given to minority students who demonstrate financial need, as identified by the University. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. Consideration will be given to students with demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship and/or a focus on information technology if possible. Selection will be conducted by a three to five-person committee identified by the dean of the Rowland School of Business and one member of the Washington family. Final selection will be made by the dean of the Rowland School of Business. The recipient shall be eligible to receive the award up to seven additional semesters, as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements.
Norma Miller Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of the Norma Miller Scholarship is to provide a deserving student with an annual scholarship of $2,500 a year. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled full-time or part-time in the Rowland School of Business and demonstrate financial need.
Richard B. Tucker Memorial Scholarship
Richard B. Tucker was a senior partner at Tucker Arensberg P.C. and counsel for Point Park University in the 1970s. He also served on the board of trustees and, upon his retirement, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Law by Point Park. The fund is meant to support a student enrolled in the School of Business with financial need. The awardee can be full-time or part-time, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Steven B. Stein Scholarship
Steven B. Stein was a 1970 graduate of Point Park College. He continues today to serve Point Park on multiple boards and through volunteering. The scholarship is intended to assist others in pursuing higher education. The fund is for any year applicant with a current GPA of at least 2.8. The scholarship awardee preference is a child of an Allied Universal Security, Inc. employee, but this is not required. Preference will be given to students pursuing a major in the Rowland School of Business.
