Statement of Accreditation
Our programs leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering technology are accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET (www.abet.org).

ABET-accredited programs have demonstrated their excellence during rigorous, objective, periodic reviews conducted by external evaluators. The laws related to the professional practice of engineering in most states give preference to graduates of ABET-accredited programs because the quality of their education is known. Students who are considering the study of engineering technology are encouraged to inquire whether prospective programs maintain ABET accreditation.

Point Park University's Bachelor of Science degree programs in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering have been designed in full compliance with the criteria of the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (www.abet.org). The programs are not yet accredited by ABET because this organization does not accredit new programs until they produce graduates.
The faculty at Point Park intend for the electrical and mechanical engineering programs to produce its first graduates in May 2019 and expect to receive accreditation in July 2020. This accreditation, once granted, will be applied retroactively by ABET for up to two years to ensure that all graduates hold a degree from an accredited program.
