Hands-On Experience in Your Major Starting Year One
Beginning freshman year, students in Point Park University's B.F.A. photography program learn and practice on professional equipment and are prepared to enter the real world when they graduate.
As a student in the B.F.A. photography program, you will have the opportunity to display your work as part of a solo or group exhibition. Students have shown their work in various locations in Pittsburgh, including:
Graduates are actively working as professional artists for a variety of publications and businesses - National Geographic Magazine, The Vindicator, Table Magazine, UPMC Eye Center, Westinghouse and The Picture People - as well as pursuing post-graduate studies at School of Visual Arts, Syracuse University, Maryland Institute College of Arts, among others.
- Hannah Altman ('17) is pursuing an M.F.A. at Virginia Commonwealth University.
- Alyssa Maurer ('18) is pursuing an M.F.A. at University of Cincinnati.
- Sharimar Cruz ('18) is in the School of Visual Arts' MPS Fashion Photography program and interning with Photographer Chris Buck.
- Dominique Hildebrand ('16) earned an M.A. from Syracuse University and is an associate photo editor for National Geographic's travel department.
