Point Park offers transfer credit opportunities, scholarship considerations
Point Park University is extending a warm welcome to students affected by the announced closure of The Modern College of Design, which announced it will cease instruction in June, citing enrollment challenges and operational instability.
“As students consider their next steps, we want them to know our School of Communication and School of Theatre, Film and Animation are ready to help them continue their education in a supportive, student-focused environment in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh,” said Marlin Collingwood, vice president of Enrollment Management. “We are prepared to work individually with interested students to support a smooth transfer process and help them academically stay on track.”
Students admitted to Point Park University from The Modern College of Design will be provided with generous transfer credit opportunities and considered for special scholarships designed to support their transition. Through the School of Communication and School of Theatre, Film and Animation, students can pursue an education grounded in hands-on learning, professional preparation and close connection to a dynamic urban center.

The Modern has stated that it is working on transfer agreements with other institutions and that certain students who paid tuition, fees or deposits for summer or fall terms will receive refunds.
