HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Point Park University fell behind, 2-0, and eventually lost, 3-1, in a non-conference men's soccer game at Houghton College on Tuesday night.
Point Park (6-6-0, 4-0-0 KIAC) cut the deficit to 2-1 on Romida Nanko's fourth goal of the season in the 81st minute. And rather than finding the tying goal in the final nine minutes, Point Park allowed Houghton (8-5-1) to regain the two-goal lead on Paul Seddon's goal with 3:25 left on the clock.
Jack Pilkinton had an assist for Point Park, which was out shot 11-8. Mitchell Kelman made three saves in 90 minutes as the Point Park goalkeeper.
The matchup with Houghton is a former American Mideast Conference matchup. Both teams left the league this past summer when it disbanded.
Point Park returns to action on Thursday at home to La Roche. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Century United South Park Complex. The Pioneers were originally scheduled to play PSU-New Kensington at that time, but PSU-NK called off the game.
