PITTSBURGH -- Lucas Silva had a hat trick and an assist, and Max Flick tallied two goals and two assists to lead the Point Park University men's soccer team to a 6-1 victory over Brescia (Ky.) University in a KIAC game at Highmark Stadium on Saturday.

Silva, a junior from Brazil, and Flick, a sophomore from Beaver Falls, Pa., combined for five goals and two assists as Point Park (9-5-1, 3-0-0 KIAC) won for the sixth time in a row and took control of the KIAC race.

With the win, Point Park is guaranteed the KIAC Regular Season title. The Pioneers are 3-0 KIAC with one game to play. Brescia (4-6) dropped to 3-1 KIAC although it had a chance to wrap up the title itself if it could have left Point Park with a win.

Point Park plays Grove City in a non-conference home game Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Pioneers finish the regular season next Saturday with its final KIAC game versus Berea. Point Park (3-0 KIAC) can't be caught in the standings with the other teams being Brescia (3-1), Asbury (2-2), Berea (1-2) and Cincinnati Christian (0-4).

Point Park didn't waste time taking control of the big home game versus Brescia, during with the KIAC Regular Season title was up for grabs. The Pioneers led 1-0 after 10:35 as Troy Dolanch scored off a pass from Jonty Loukes.

The Pioneers took a 2-0 lead into the halftime locker room after Flick scored his first of two goals in the 38th minute. Defender Frazer McKinlay played a long ball up to Flick, who had it on the doorstep and lofted it over Brescia keeper Conner Braun.

Point Park turned things on the final 45 minutes, and it was all Flick and Silva doing the damage. Flick and Silva combined for the Pioneers' final five goals, four of which came the second half. The duo had a successful two-man game going.

Flick found Silva inside the 6-yard line for a 3-0 lead in the 62nd minute. In the 65th minute, Silva returned the favor in setting up Flick for his second goal of the game. Less than one minute later, Flick fed Silva with a pass along the 6-yard yard line for an easy finish and a 5-0 lead.

After Brescia got the benefit of an own goal to get within 5-1, Flick found Silva alone for a one-on-one with Brescia keeper Braun. Silva was taken down by Braun, and Silva converted the ensuing penalty kick for his third goal of the day and seventh of the year.

Point Park had a 24-7 advantage in shots and 8-1 edge in corner kicks. With the six goals, Point Park built on its scoring offense, which entered the game ranking 11th in the NAIA in goals per game at 3.46.

Point Park's home game Tuesday versus Grove City is Faculty and Staff Night at Highmark Stadium. Admission is Free, and Kickoff is 5 p.m. That game is followed by the Point Park women versus Carlow at 7 p.m.
