The Theatre Department in the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University is seeking a full-time assistant professor in Musical Theatre Voice. This is a tenure–track appointment beginning in the Fall of 2018. Applicants must have a terminal degree or its equivalent, and have professional experience. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching collegiate level applied lessons, extensive knowledge of vocal pedagogy and vocal styles for musical theatre, excellent administrative ability to coordinate a large number of voice studios and students and a collaborative work ethic. The position includes the teaching of private and group voice lessons and the position will serve as the Coordinator of Voice, overseeing private voice instructors, musical theatre, acting and dance students studying group and private voice and developing the voice program. Special consideration will be given to candidates who are knowledgeable in multiple styles and periods of musical theatre with technical knowledge/pedagogical skill to train students in classical and contemporary Broadway singing as preparation for careers in the industry. International experience and interest in developing study abroad programs a plus. Additional duties include advising, university and departmental committee service.
