Graduate Student Assistantship (GSA):  Office of the Provost

This candidate will work on project-based assignments important to the University and its outreach and collaborative initiatives. 

In particular, the graduate assistant will use their experience by working in close collaboration with the Provost or designee(s) to:

  • Support outreach opportunities with business leaders and professional organizations;
  • Assist in planning of workshops/symposiums, development and implementation of all related programs and programming;
  • Conduct research on select topics that will be incorporated into programs;
  • Assist with actual operations and logistics with scheduled events on campus and in the market;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Provost or designee.  

The Graduate Assistantship (GA) is part-time and, therefore, the award is equivalent to half tuition and fees. In addition, graduate assistants are paid $10/hr., up to $400/month or a maximum of $1,600 per academic term.  Half tuition is for 4.5 graduate credits per term (may vary, depending on program requirements), up to a maximum of 13.5 graduate credits per year, if the student’s position and/or program includes summer enrollment.

This Graduate Assistant position requires up to 10 hours of project-based work per week and are only open to students who are registered degree candidates at Point Park University. Full-time and part-time graduate students are encouraged to apply.

Room and board, additional tuition charges, books and incidental costs are not included.

Point Park University’s Graduate Assistantship program is designed to provide financial support and stimulating, practical learning experiences to graduate students.

Graduate Assistantships are awarded for a one-year period and are renewable for a second year. Both United States citizens and international students are eligible to apply.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

3.50 GPA in undergraduate major
3.25 GPA overall

This graduate assistantship will run from January 2018 – April 2018 with a possible renewal for the summer.

The student must be admitted and enrolled in graduate or doctoral classes at Point Park University.
