Media Services Office Coordinator

POSITION TITLE: MEDIA SERVICES OFFICE COORDINATOR (TEMPORARY)

DEPARTMENT: MEDIA SERVICES 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 
This position is the morning opening and afternoon coordinator to the Media Services Office that functions to supervise student and Part-Time staff, and coordinate deliveries with a commitment to customer service and ability communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel via phone and email.  Office paperwork and processing requests from instructors for classroom A/V, as well as minor troubleshooting of campus mobile and installed equipment are required functions. 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • A basic knowledge of audio visual equipment including LCD projectors, TV’s, audio distribution, and use of laptops (both PC and Mac) and their connections in an academic setting
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people
  • Excellent phone, email, and office etiquette
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Able to supervise and direct staff

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Supervise 2 Part Time Technicians and 18 Student Workers

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable Transportation
  • Open the office daily at 7:30a
  • Flexible work schedule as needed
  • PA Act 153 clearances (state police, child abuse, FBI)
  • Standard background check (Federal, State, Local criminal checks; academic verification)
  • Ability to lift and push no less than 10lbs
  • Proficient with computers, software and AV related equipment
  • Casual to office casual dress

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential:

1. Supervise office staff and deliveries
2. Answer phone and email
3. Troubleshooting of mobile and installed campus audio visual equipment
4.  Assist in the set up and teardown of classroom and meeting equipment

Non-Essential:

1. Report technical problems to Manager
2. Process office paperwork
3. Serves as back up to Manager
4. Help train student staff

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires repetitively lifting light weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities.

Mobility within the office. Ability to walk, sit, stand and climb stairs. Ability to use hands and fingers, to handle office equipment, records and files. Occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, and to stoop, kneel or crouch. Vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read and discern written errors on paper and electronic documents. Ability to talk and hear. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
