Point Park welcomed students and 500 of their family members for three fun-filled days during Family Weekend 2010. The event is an opportunity for parents and family members of students to visit Point Park and experience what the campus and the city have to offer.

"Family weekend gives parents a reason to see their son or daughter," said Keith Paylo, dean of student affairs. "For many parents, this is the first time they have seen their son or daughter since August."

Events scheduled for the weekend included trolly and carriage rides, exhibits of student work, and several receptions.

Evening entertainment included dance and musical theatre performances designed specifically for Family Weekend by the Conservatory of Performing Arts.

Family members were also encouraged to explore the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, the Heinz History Center and the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. The weekend was capped off on Sunday with a family breakfast at the Point Cafe in Lawrence Hall.
