The Sophomore Experience
Your sophomore year is full of unique challenges. You may have already found friends, adjusted to Downtown Pittsburgh, and hopefully come to an understanding about the demands of college course work.
After figuring out all this your freshman year, it’s hard to know what you are supposed to do as a sophomore.

That's where The Sophomore Experience comes into play. Active in Pioneer and Conestoga Halls, the goal of TSE is to assist with personal development during a student’s sophomore year at Point Park.
The Sophomore Experience focuses on five areas vital to every sophomore's (and student's!) success:
- social justice/diversity
We'll help you use your sophomore year as a time not just to succeed academically but also to figure yourself out.
A Resource and a Guide
Maybe you're asking:
- What do you want to be involved in on campus?
- Whether the major you chose before coming to college is now right for you?
- What do you want out of your college career?

Here are just a few of the resources you'll discover through The Sophomore Experience to help you find some answers, help you manage the time it takes to move forward with your goals, and help you keep your cool when you're stressed:
Throughout the year, your Community Mentors (aka CMs) are there as a resource. From activities that get you involved with Career Development (sharpening your resume, workshops to strengthen your interview skills) to social events and Mystery Trips to fascinating places nearby, the Sophomore Experience will help you to find your path, as well as branch out to try some new, fun things.
Have an idea you want to try out? Suggest it to your CM and maybe we'll give it a spin! The Sophomore Experience is here for you to show you the many opportunities Point Park offers and how to connect to them.
