Precision Jazz and Kick Line Master Workshop Train with former Rockette Director and Choreographer Eileen Grace

Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20
Class will include a warm up incorporating stretching and strengthening as well as 2 dance combinations that reflect the style of the Rockettes. Class will continue with a kick line that emphasizes coordination and teamwork. 30 minutes will be left at the end for a Q & A about the life of a professional dancer.
This Master Workshop is offered to various age groups at different times. We are seeking enthusiastic and disciplined dancers. No audition required and all levels are accepted.
Eileen Grace
Former Rockette Director and Choreographer
Eileen is an award-winning Director and Choreographer, a Master Instructor and former Broadway performer and Rockette. Eileen has taught all ages, levels and styles of dance including master classes at universities, conventions and workshops around the country having also served as Artistic Director of the Rockettes Summer Intensive Program for 10 years. Eileen directed and staged the Radio City Christmas Spectacular touring productions for 8 years and her choreography credits include over 40 Musicals.
Eileen’s directing and choreography credits include Singin in the Rain, On Your Toes, Guys and Dolls, My One And Only (for which she won 2 IRNE awards for best director and choreographer), Will Rogers Follies (IRNE), Crazy For You (IRNE), Cabaret, Anything Goes, 42nd Street, Annie Get Your Gun (starring Andrea McArdle), Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, No No Nanette (starring Tony award winner Donna McKechnie), The Drowsy Chaperone, the World Cup Opening Ceremonies, and many industrials. She also staged the Rockette appearances on Jay Leno, Donnie and Marie, Oprah, the Columbus Day Parade and the Today Show. She served as Associate Producer for the theatre company Reagle Music Theatre in Boston for 3 years and currently serves as director for the annual Bradley Awards at the Kennedy Center in Wash. D.C. where she has worked with Tony Award winners, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Jennifer Holliday, and Betty Buckley as well as Academy Award winner, Shirley Jones.
As a performer, Eileen has done 3 Broadway shows, numerous television appearances and performed as a Rockette for 8 years. Eileen was in the Broadway casts of 42nd Street , Will Rogers Follies (original cast member and dance captain) and in the international tour of My One And Only (with Tommy Tune and Lucie Arnaz). Her television credits include the Grammy Awards, the Tony Awards, One Life to Live, the Today Show, Good Morning America, Macys Parade, Christmas at Rockefeller Center, the Kennedy Center Honors, the Late Show with David Letterman and Oprah.
Recent projects have included working with Oprah and Hugh Jackman on the 10th anniversary celebration of O magazine and creating original choreography for the Rockettes performance on the inaugural sailing of Norwegian Cruise Lines newest ship, The Breakaway. One of her most favorite choreography projects was choreographing On Your Toes starring American Ballet Theatre’s principal dancers, Marcelo Gomes and Michele Wiles.
Eileen is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Awards from both the PA Governor’s School of the Arts and Point Park University. Her recent production of Anything Goes is currently nominated for 10 IRNE awards (Independent Reviewers of New England) including Best Director and Best Choreography. The production was also recognized as one of Boston’s Best Theatre productions of 2018 right alongside Hamilton and The Boston Pops' On The Town.
The program takes place entirely in the George Rowland White Performance Studio 3 on Point Park’s campus in Lawrence Hall.
