High school students and recent graduates are invited to explore the world of Sports Broadcasting through a three-day camp hosted by the School of Communication and the Pittsburgh Pirates Radio and Television Play-By-Play Announcer Greg Brown. Participants will gain hands-on experience, learning from industry experts who bring real-world insights and techniques. Whether you're passionate about play-by-play commentary, sideline reporting, or behind-the-scenes production, this camp offers a comprehensive introduction to the dynamic field of sports communications. Join us in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh, minutes from major sports stadiums and arenas, to develop your skills, build your network, and take the first step toward a thrilling career in sports broadcasting!

To participate in this exciting program, students must be entering grades 9-12 as of Fall 2026 and/or be a 2026 high school graduate. No prior broadcast, communications, or sports experience necessary!

Drop-Off / Pick-Up For Commuters

Commuter students should be dropped off each day in our designated "Drop-Off Zone".
This zone is located at Academic Hall, 201 Wood St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Parents and guardians should stop and park on Third Ave. The student should enter the building through the entrance facing Third Ave. and make their way to their assigned classroom. Pick-up will begin at 4 pm. Parents and guardians

Payment Information:

All payments are due before the start of the program.

Registration and payments will be handled through our easy, user-friendly online registration platform, CampDocVisa, Mastercard, Discover and Electronic Checks are accepted. Payment plans are available. Students receive a t-shirt, swag bag, and ID holder with their registration. 

Non-Refundable Registration Fee: 
A non-refundable registration fee of $100.00 is required to reserve your space in the program. Please review our FAQs for the most up-to-date information on cancellations and refunds. This fee is separate from the tuition cost.

Dorm & Meals Information:

When applicable, residential students receive 3 meals on weekdays and 2 meals on weekends. Commuters receive a daily lunch buffet included with the program. All meals take place in our Lawrence Hall Dining Room.

Available Discounts:
1. A 30% tuition discount is currently offered to Point Park University employees, alumni, and their immediate family members. Family is defined as yourself, your spouse, and/or your children. Dorm and meal plan costs are not available for this discount.

2. Enroll a participant in more than one program or register more than one child from the same family to receive $50.00 off your balance.  This coupon can only be applied to one program or account.
