Changes to how the Library will operate during the pandemic
Library Operations And The Pandemic
The Library is following the guidelines established by the CDC and so we are changing how we do things to help guarantee the health and safety of all users.
Checking Out Books / Plays / DVDs / Etc.
The biggest change for many is that you will not be able to browse the Library shelves. You will still be able to check out books, plays, DVDs, etc. from the Library, but you will have to place a hold on them first. Placing a hold on an item is very simple. Go to PointCat to search for what you need and then click place hold. You will receive an email once the requested item is ready to pick up at the main desk.
*Remember, you can also search Find It from the Library's homepage to see if a book or play is immediately available in e-format, or if a movie is available to stream through one of our numerous film databases.
Access to eResources
You can search Find It to see if a book or play is immediately available in an e-format, or if a movie is available to stream through one of our numerous film databases. Access to all the Library’s online resources like databases, eBooks, journal articles, streaming videos are available 24/7 at Articles and More or Find It .
Starting on February 1, a limited number of Lower Level study rooms will be available for use. These study rooms must be reserved before using and can only be reserved once a day for 2 hours at a time. To reserve a study room Reserve a Room. Please note that only one person can reserve and use a study room at a time and masks must always be worn.
Textbooks and Course Reserves
All course reserve items, including the Library’s textbooks, are not circulating at this time. Library staff will scan textbook chapters upon request. To submit your request, please use the Scan Request Form.
Returning Items From Last Semester
If you had items checked out from past semesters we are asking you return them before March 5. If you return them by that date all fines will be forgiven and you will help us get the Library back to running normally. If you have any questions about material you checked out from last semester please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
