Fast-Track Bachelor’s to Master’s Programs

Start your graduate courses as an undergrad, finish your Master's degree sooner

Earn two degrees in five years or less

The benefits of being a fast-track bachelor's to master's student include:

  • Saving time by completing graduate courses as an undergraduate allows you to finish your master’s degree sooner.
  • Saving money by taking graduate courses as an undergrad: in fall and spring semesters, you are charged the same flat undergrad rate, as long as you do not take more than 18 credits. In those semesters, your graduate coursework is included for no additional tuition charge.*
  • Trying out graduate study to confirm that it’s right for you.
  • Flexibility, with both on-ground and online programs available.
  • Some graduate classes may count toward your bachelor’s degree (consult your advisor/school/department to see if this applies to you).
  • A 25% alumni discount on most graduate programs after graduation.

Some programs allow admitted students to start taking classes as soon as the summer before junior year, so it’s never too early to start thinking about graduate study! Students should apply for graduate program admission before starting to take graduate coursework; contact the Office of Graduate and Online Admission for details.

Step-by-step application instructions

Before taking graduate classes as a fast-track student, students must apply to and be admitted to their graduate program of interest (this is true even if they selected a fast-track major upon entering the university). Completing the graduate application will ensure that a student is coded as a graduate student once they have completed their bachelor’s degree.

Applying for graduate study is a simple process that takes a few minutes. To get started, apply online (the application fee is waived) and follow these steps:

  • Scroll down and select Master's and Doctoral Application (please note: before starting your application, you will need to create an account with your name, email address, create a password, etc.).
  • After retrieving your activation email, return to the login page and sign in to the application portal. If you experience password reset issues, reach out to gradadmission@pointpark.edu so that we can reset your password.
  • Choose Start New Application:
    1. Type of program: Graduate
    2. Modality: select either Online or On-Ground, depending on which modality interests you. Not all graduate programs are available in both modalities; see our graduate programs page or contact Graduate and Online Admissions for modality information.
    3. Student type: Graduate
    4. Major: Select the graduate program you are interested in completing.
    5. Desired enrollment status: Select full-time. At the graduate level, 9 credits is considered full-time. This can be changed later.
    6. Citizenship: Select your citizenship status.
    7. Start term: Select the semester after you plan to complete your bachelor’s degree (for example, if you plan to graduate in Spring 2038, select Summer 2028 or Fall 2028). This can be changed later.
    8. Photos: If you are applying for a fully online program, you may upload your photos now (or email them later to gradadmission@pointpark.edu). All online applicants must submit two photosa personal (selfie or headshot) photo and a picture of a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport.
    9. Supporting documents: You do not need to submit any documents with your application. Some programs require additional documents; your graduate admissions counselor will let you know once your application has been processed.
    10. Finalize application: Tab through to complete all required fields and then click Submit. You should receive a confirmation that your submission has been received.
