Brewing Scholarship Please read and complete the below information for consideration.
We welcome applications from all individuals who meet the Eligibility Requirements below.
While the scholarships cover the course tuition and all instructional materials, students are responsible for purchasing brewing ingredients (typically less than $30) and all associated travel/transportation costs.

The Pittsburgh Brewery Diversity Council Bey Scholarships ** (2 available each year)
Applicants will need to be 21 years of age or older by the program start date and a legal resident of the United States. Underrepresented applicants, including those identifying as an ethnic and/or racial minority, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, are encouraged to apply. Applicants must also exhibit leadership, professionalism and a strong desire to be active in the brewing community.
Applicants must also be available to attend the 2026 Brewing Science Academy at Point Park University. No travel expenses are included.
*Note on the Pink Boots Society Scholarship
The Mission of the Pink Boots Society is to assist, inspire and encourage women and non-binary beer professionals to advance their careers in the beer industry through education. For more information, to donate or join go to www.pinkbootssociety.org.
Eligibility Requirements for Scholarship: Must be an active member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of Pink Boots Society. To apply, please go to our application page.
**Note on the Pittsburgh Brewery Diversity Council Bey Scholarships
The application window for the Bey Scholarships for 2026 are now closed. These scholarships will be available for 2027 (and beyond) as well. When available, the timeline dates will be published here. These scholarships can also apply to the Distilling Science Academy if desired. The 2026 scholarships are generously funded by the diversity council and Wye Beer Company, and has the goal of advancing the industry so that it more accurately reflects the diversity of society. Step 1: Complete the Scholarship Application Form
Complete the Scholarship Application Form online. As part of your scholarship application, please submit a short essay (500 words or less) about yourself, touching on the following: A) Briefly describe your experience with brewing and the brewing industry (if any), and your brewing-related ambitions for the future. B) How do you see the Brewing Science Academy furthering your goals? C) Please explain why obtaining one of the scholarships is important, and perhaps necessary, with regard to your ability to attend the course.
