The B.F.A. in cinema production offers a pre-professional, intensive hands-on education in narrative filmmaking, with collaboration at its core. In our production-focused degree program, students begin producing creative work from day one, using state-of-the-art equipment. This degree includes a yearlong, intensive senior thesis project in the student's chosen concentration: directing, producing, cinematography, sound or editing.

All filmmakers in our program learn the skills necessary to communicate their creative vision, so they can bring their ideas to the screen. Students also develop skills that are valued in any career — critical thinking, organization, communication, collaboration and creativity. Production courses are designed to model real-world production environments, with students from a variety of disciplines collaborating to produce professional quality projects. This degree also requires students to meet strict deadlines, communicate in class through critiques and discussions, and share artistic work in a public setting through either readings, presentations and/or screenings.

After graduation, students will flow seamlessly from student film productions to professional productions, whether that be film, TV, commercial, online marketing and more!
