Background

Samuel GC Muñoz is an actor-creator. His craft led him to work in a variety of areas, such as in Kenneth Branagh's feature film Thor (assistant motion capture stunt coordinator), with Billy Crystal for the 2011 Oscars (actor, art department), Clint Eastwood's Invictus (assistant motion capture coordinator) and 2 Households, 2 Assholes: Shakespeare's R&J (co-creator, director, actor) — earning rave reviews in The New York Times and "Critics' Pick" Backstage. 

His craft began with his family who introduced him to the art of storytelling, music and sports. From his early loves, he immersed himself in many forms of dramatic arts such as improv, sword fighting, Shakespeare, low flying trapeze, Chekhov and ladder fighting.

His notable theatre roles include Hamlet (Hamlet), Smack Donavan (Sci-fi action movie), Nurse and Tybalt (Romeo & Juliet), Ed (Aven 'U Boys), Westly (The Princess Bride) and Pike Calypso (Action Movie:The Play). He has worked on award-winning films such as 53:1 (producer/actor), Broken & Outcast (stunt coordinator, actor), Searching for Fortune (actor) with John Heard and Nathan's Kingdom (voiceover artist). 

Muñoz's work has been seen at the Tony award-winning Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Jeff Citation award-winning Defiant Theatre - Chicago, City Theatre Company - Pittsburgh, Theatre Squared - Fayetteville, Ark., Virginia Shakespeare Festival, Off Broadway, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest - Italy, Queens World Film Festival, Fargo Film Festival, North Hollywood Cinefest, Breckenridge, CO Film Festival, Pittsburgh Symphony, etc.

Muñoz has mentored with seasoned professionals such as movement specialist Dr. Meade Andrews, Voice Specialist Bridget Connors, Shakespeare/Speech Specialist Gary Logan, Movement Specialist Bob Davidson, Royal Shakespeare Company members Tony Church, Estelle Kohler and Bill Homewood, Chicago's Second City Martin de Matt and Anne Libera, The National Theater Conservatory and Dell' Arte International School of Physical Theatre. He earned an M.F.A. from Florida Atlantic University's Actor Training Program and a B.A. from Columbia College Chicago under the tutelage of Sheldon Patinkin, Jeff Ginsberg and Society of American Fight Directors, Fight Master David Woolley.

Muñoz is a former adjunct professor at California State University, Northridge, Florida Atlantic University's Professional Actor Training Program and a guest teaching artist at various acting programs. Currently, he is co-creator of RADMOON and a tenured associate professor of movement, stage combat and acting at Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts.
